Exporting a Raster Dataset
This tutorial demonstrates accessing the export raster menu and reviews the different options available when exporting rasters.

Accessing the Save Raster Layer As tool
To save a raster layer as a new file, use the Save Raster Layer As… tool. To access the tool, right-click the raster layer’s name in the Layers Panel and click through Export > Save As…

Here’s a brief description of what you will find in the tool dialogue box (screenshot above).
Output mode: You can specify whether to save the raster data layer or an image of the raster layer as symbolized in your project.
Format: The default output format is a GeoTIFF. Using the dropdown menu, you can also choose from a number of other raster format options for different purposes.
File name: Click the three dots to choose a file location for the exported dataset and give it a name.
Layer name: Depending on the specified format, you might also need to choose a layer name for the new, saved raster layer. For example, if you choose to save within a geopackage, you will choose the geopackage under “File Name” and the specific raster dataset’s name under “Layer name.”
CRS: The CRS of the exported dataset. The default will be the CRS of the input raster.
Extent: Specify the extents of the exported raster. The default is the extent of the current layer being exported, but you can also define the extent manually or by choosing another layer, layout, bookmark, or the current map canvas extent.
Resolution: The cell dimensions of the exported dataset, shown in CRS units. The default is the resolution of the current raster layer.
Click OK to save the exported raster layer.
