June 2026 Updates

30 June 2026

As we move into the summer, there is plenty of activity at Mapping 101! Including a few new tutorials and “behind-the-scenes” updates to the website. We hope those of you in the Northern Hemisphere are staying cool during the summer heat!

happy GIS-ing,
Leah

Updates from the Month

This summer will see a slew of updates to the older tutorials—many of which will see “quiet” changes and new screenshots or demonstration GIFs to better reflect changing software. That said, a few new Utilities tutorials for QGIS have been added this month!

  • Fixing Broken Data Links (here)

  • Finding & Installing QGIS Plugins (here)

  • Plotting GPX Data (here)

Coming Up

As ever, we are working toward full parity between ArcGIS Pro and QGIS while also prioritizing updates to the most commonly referenced tutorials before the beginning of the fall semester.

If you find these resources helpful, please consider donating to support Mapping 101.
